Seth Ross' Home Page
Welcome to my Home Page. I am a publisher, author, webmaster, and UNIX sysadmin who's been working on the Internet since 1990. In 1993, I launched Albion.com and Albion Books, where I was responsible for publishing four titles, including the ground-breaking computer book Netiquette by Virginia Shea and The Newbie’s Guide to The Microsoft Network.
I've produced numerous online services, including www.netdictionary.com, www.albion.com, and several sites on The Microsoft Network. My writing credits include Netdictionary, Taking the Next Step: The Buyer's Guide to NeXTSTEP Computing, co-authored with Daniel Kehoe, as well as numerous software reviews, local news stories, and web pages.
I was born and raised in the Hudson River Valley in New York and graduated from Brown University in 1986 with an Honors Degree in Creative Writing. I've lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for twelve years, including the last seven in San Francisco.
My professional interests include computer journalism, software development, online systems, electronic publishing, business law in general and intellectual property law in particular, graphic design, and the management of online communities.
My personal interests include natural history, mountain-climbing, maps & map-making, anthropology, myths & folklore, and song-writing. I enjoy playing my guitars.
